We’re working with Brigit’s Garden in Galway who have been awarded funding for a renewable energy project. Brigit’s Garden has been awarded funding of €60,000 from Science Foundation Ireland and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland for the installation of renewable energy devices at the award-winning Celtic Gardens and Visitor Centre in Roscahill, Co. Galway.

Tipperary’s adoption of biomass means that the county now spends €1.1M on local biomass (wood chip and wood pellet) to heat large sites. Previously, €2.5M would have to be spent on imported oil. Visitors from Italy, Belgium, Holland, Turkey, Finland, Hungary, Spain and Germany took in sites such as Templederry Community Wind Farm, Cloughjordan Ecovillage and renewable energy installations at Gurteen Agricultural College.
