Brigit’s Garden Awarded Funding for Renewable Energy Project

We’re working with Brigit’s Garden in Galway who have been awarded funding for a renewable energy project. Brigit’s Garden has been awarded funding of €60,000 from Science Foundation Ireland and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland for the installation of renewable energy devices at the award-winning Celtic Gardens and Visitor Centre in Roscahill, Co. Galway.

Tipperary’s adoption of biomass means that the county now spends €1.1M on local biomass (wood chip and wood pellet) to heat large sites. Previously, €2.5M would have to be spent on imported oil. European Visitors Impressed with the Diversity of Community-based Sustainability in Tipperary

Two delegations of over 60 European visitors took part in tours of Tipperary’s renewable energy sites during St Patrick’s week.
