RETScreen Biomass District Heating
RETSCREEN ® is a registered trademark of the Minister of Natural Resources Canada
A challenge for developers of renewable energy projects is how to complete an assessment of the technical and financial viability of a renewable energy project in a cost effective way. A number of pre-feasibility tools are available for different technologies.
Benefit of the course
The RETScreen® Tool has been developed by Natural Resources Canada in collaboration with NASA , UNEP and others. It is a freely available Microsoft Excel tool wich covers a wide range of energy technologies.
The RETScreen® tool, in this training, will be demonstrated with a particular focus on Biomass District Heating (DH). There will be particular focus on the installation of commercial scale biomass heating systems i.e 100 kW and upwards and on district heating systems. Users will be taken through the different approaches and tools within RETScreen® for biomass heating systems.
Who should attend?
This workshop will be delivered by experts and will restricted to a total of 20 attendees. It will be practical computer based session where users will be taken through a number of RETScreen® models for biomass projects. A number of case studies will be input to the RETScreen® Tool and a range of analisys completed to assess different scenarios.
