Promotion Plus – Personalised Travel Planning

The aim of this project is to inform and encourage homeowners in different communities in North Tipperary about:

• alternative transport options available to them
• planning their journeys to minimise unnecessary trips 
• get feedback from homeowners that will contribute towards the rural transport strategy for 2011.

The communities that the Tipperary Energy Agency have engaged with are Ardcroney, Puckane and Portroe. An information pack was given to 10 homeowners in each of these areas with information regarding bus timetables, car cost calculators, maps of cycle routes and walks in the area and a pedometer.

Each of the homeowners are required to complete an exercise where they try and think about the week ahead and try to plan their journeys more sustainably. They are also required to complete a survey which will be collected one month after the packs have been distributed.
