North Tipperary Civic Offices, Nenagh
Audit:
The building was audited in 2008 by Siona Daly and Paul Kenny. A report of the energy audit was completed and sent to the Management Team for review. The actions formed part of the 2009 Workplan. Recommendations outlined in the report include low energy lighting retrofit, lighting controls, server virtualisation, automatic power down at night and optimisation of the heat pump.
Implementation:
The majority of the recommendations were implemented with the support from SEAI’s “Support for Exemplar Energy Efficiency Program” in 2009. These projects were implemented in Dec-March 2010.
Results:
As can be seen from the graph, since these projects have been implemented (i.e. from March on) there has been a steady decrease in energy consumption. This is very clearly illustrated in a comparison between July 2010 and Jan 2010. This comparison illustrates a 40% reduction in electricity consumption at the Civic Offices. These savings have been sustained since and further work has been carried out in 2010 to further reduce the energy consumption in this building.
