Energy Audit

Tipperary Town Swimming Pool was audited in October 2008. The building was upgraded in 2005 and  a high efficiency boiler / controls installed. It was recommended that a swimming pool cover and lighting controls be installed in the pool.

Implementation

The pool cover was installed in June 2009.

Results

Since the pool cover was installed there has been an actual reduction in oil consumption of 32%. The oil consumption in the pool is compared for 2007 and 2009. (The pool was closed for a number of weeks in 2008). In the months after the installation, between June and November 2009, €10,000 was saved (at €0.57c/litre oil).
