Energy Audit of Nenagh Leisure Centre
Energy Audit:
An energy audit of this building was carried out in July 2008. Recommendations that emerged from this audit included low energy lighting retrofit, lighting controls in changing rooms etc. and the replacement of the boiler with a high efficiency boiler. Implementation:
All of these actions were implemented and it was also decided to change the burner on the AHU so that the AHU could be heated with oil rather than with LPG.
Results:
The savings in terms of heating (oil) in 2009 was 132MWh or €8000 at oil prices in 2009. The electricity savings were small but also important. The savings in terms of electricity in 2009 was 7MWh or €800.
