Energy Audit

The motor tax office was audited in April 2009 by Siona Daly. During this audit, it was established the there was a very high usage of portable electric heaters and that the lighting levels in certain locations were too high. The walls at the back of the office had already been pump filled and the front of the building was a listed solid stone building.

Implementation:

In Sept/Oct 2009, the ceiling between the office and the storage area was insulated with mineral wool fibre. A new condensing boiler was installed with a thermostat and timer to ensure that the use of electrical heaters was mimised. The number of lights in light fittings was reduced where there was no requirement for high light levels (lux levels) i.e. over shelves, walkways etc.

Results

This building is still being monitored in terms of energy savings.
