Carbon Footprint South Tipperary
The TEA has completed a Carbon Footprint study of South Tipperary County Council for the past number of years. However, this year, a National Carbon Management Tool was launched by the EPA. Most of the data inputs were the same except for the addition of waste, hired machinery and staff travel.
The result for South Tipperary County Council was 12.4 kTonnes CO2 per annum.
The split of this CO2 by Department is illustrated in the pie chart below.
This pie chart illustrates that the main focus for CO2 reduction (and energy efficiency measures) should be in Water Services, followed by Public Lighting and Public Buildings.
