Energy Management in Public Lighting: Improving lighting and lowering costs
May 10, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
| FreeEvent Navigation
Public Lighting management in Ireland has changed radically in the last number of years, with local authorities required to invest significantly more time and resources managing the public lighting. Key to this will be implementing maintenance, repair and improvement plans that capital-ise on the improvements in technology, maintenance life and financing options that have become available over the last decade. It is clear that simply replacing like for like replacements is not really an option, and a clear strategy needs to be defined. Topics covered for this session are listed below, with an overview of the up-coming training sessions being organised by Local Au-thorities for local authorities.
Speakers:
• Iarla Moran, National Status of PL energy use and Ireland’s first full town pilot ESCO
• Farhan Nasiem, Laois County Council: How to objectively review lighting needs for sav-ings
• Michael Perse, Philips WRTL, Good design, the key to saving with upgrades
• Andrew Weight, Overy and Associates, LED’s: technology update and how to purchase.
• Sean Noone, SELC, Management systems to save energy, maintenance and life cycle costs
• Willie Moynihan, Kerry Co Co, Update on ambitious ESCO plan for county wide ESCO
• Paddy Craven, Craven Lighting, Skills required for public lighting energy management and future training courses
