The weekend of November 8 – 10, 2013 will see dozens of homes and buildings open their doors to the public for the Near Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) Open Doors Ireland Event. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet home owners of low energy buildings all over the country and see their finished projects firsthand.
Over €110,000 is invested in 84 houses across six housing estates. Cavity insulation, CFL bulbs and energy metres are included in the retrofit. Householders will save an estimated 15% on energy bills and will enjoy warmer homes. Eighty four social houses have benefited from energy retrofitting works under the Better Energy Area Based Warmer Homes
The Tipperary Energy will be visiting 5 North Tipperary Primary schools this term as part of the SEAI Energy Awareness Programme for primary schools.
